What is the hot new reality series sweeping the country? Gotta be Dog Eat Dog , where contestants will do absolutely anything to get at that prize money. Brooke Burns is the show's hot new host. If you don't recognize her name, maybe you'd recognize her body in a red one-piece from her last gig as a lifeguard on Baywatch.

A native of Dallas, Brooke pursued ballet for 12 years, and then a ski accident ended her career. Her mother thought modeling would help her recover--and that put her on the path to stardom.

At 16, she began traveling the world as a professional mannequin, until she landed in Orlando, Florida, to work on the show Out of the Blue . Ready to step up to the big leagues, Brooke relocated to L.A.

After her first audition for the babe springboard, a string of small but notable parts followed on Nero Wolfe and Ally McBeal , before the call finally came from Baywatch producers. When the spinoff series Baywatch Hawaii launched, she kept her job and moved to the islands.

Her role on Baywatch offered the up-and-comer a chance to compete in the celebrity round of Fear Factor. She caught the eye of NBC producers, who were developing a show that would combine dizzying stunts with the competitive edge of Weakest Link --and tapped Brooke to be the host.

Last week, Shallow Hal hit video and DVD, featuring Brooke's performance as a woman with, um, inner beauty. Living outside the madness in the suburbs of L.A., Brooke volunteers her time at Camp Baywatch and Planet Hope. She still dances, swims and writes songs and poetry. Hey, she may also enjoy long walks on the beach...in her Baywatch Speedo.
